1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using RidgeCommand, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and PenguinRidge ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of RidgeCommand.
2. The service
RidgeCommand is a personal productivity application providing task management, habit tracking, and private journaling. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Where we make material changes, we will give reasonable notice.
During the beta period, the service is provided free of charge. Paid tiers may be introduced in the future with appropriate notice.
3. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when registering.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Do not share your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use RidgeCommand.
- One person, one account. You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent limits or restrictions.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@penguinridge.co.uk.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the application.
- Use automated tools to access the service in a manner that places excessive load on our infrastructure.
- Upload or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes the rights of others.
- Use the service to store or transmit malware or malicious code.
- Attempt to circumvent any security measures or rate limits.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.
5. Your data & intellectual property
Your content belongs to you. Tasks, habits, journal entries, and any other content you create in RidgeCommand remain your property. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.
By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process your content solely to provide the service to you. We do not use your content for marketing, training AI models on our behalf, or any purpose beyond operating the service.
You can export all your data in machine-readable JSON format at any time via Settings → Account → Export Data. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
6. AI features
Certain features use artificial intelligence powered by Anthropic's Claude API. When you use these features:
- Relevant content (e.g. journal entry text) is transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing.
- You will be asked to explicitly consent to this before your first AI feature use.
- AI-generated content (stories, analyses, suggestions) is provided for personal, creative, and reflective purposes only. It should not be relied upon as professional advice of any kind.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or quality of AI-generated outputs.
- You can disable AI features at any time in Settings. Disabling AI features does not affect the rest of your account.
7. Service availability
We aim to keep RidgeCommand available and working, but we do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free access to the service.
- That the service will always be available or that data will never be lost.
- Any specific uptime percentage during the beta period.
We perform regular database backups (daily by default). However, you are encouraged to export your own data regularly as an additional safeguard.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law:
- The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
- Our total liability to you for any direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £10 if you have not paid anything).
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes all your data with immediate effect.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if you engage in abusive behaviour, or if we decide to discontinue the service. Where reasonably possible, we will give 30 days' notice of service discontinuation and provide data export facilities.
Sections 5 (your data rights), 8 (limitation of liability), and 10 (governing law) survive termination.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer in another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws that override this.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when terms were last revised.
